Principal's Message

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE TO PARENTS

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Fremont Elementary!  I am honored to join and work alongside the Fremont Team.  Our school is continuing to  focus this year on strong foundations.  This is achieved by the consistent  implementation of the AVID program,  the No Excuses University (NEU) framework,  RUSD adopted curriculum, and alignment with state standards.   The focus  on creating strong foundations will allow us to build meaningful futures together and prepare our students to be college and career ready.

Fremont has a wonderful staff consisting of regular education teachers (TK-6),  special day teachers, a HEARTS coordinator, a resource specialist (RSP teacher),  intervention teachers,  a speech pathologist, and a school psychologist. In addition, we have AM and P.M. preschool classes. Counselors (shared between sites)  are present on campus  to support student well being.  Fremont staff members take advantage of professional development opportunities throughout the year, and  work collaboratively to ensure that all students have access to an equitable, rigorous educational program.

Fremont is an AVID elementary school, and a No Excuses University (NEU) school. Teachers in grades 1-6 have been AVID-trained to teach students organizational skills and learning strategies that will provide them with the foundation necessary to graduate from high school.  We believe that every student deserves to be educated in a way that prepares them for both college and career.

Freemont also offers a  Dual Language Immersion program that offers (when selected)  English speaking and Spanish speaking students an exciting, enriching, and challenging educational program. Students enrolled in this program will learn to read, write, and communicate effectively in Spanish and English while achieving high levels of academic success. Students will have the bilingual skills and cross-cultural competencies needed to succeed in our multicultural society and global economy.

We maintain a high level of communication between the home and the school, and we encourage you to become actively involved in your child’s education by speaking often with your child’s teacher and attending school-wide activities such as Back-to-School Night, Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and Family Workshops  scheduled throughout the year.

We have several leadership opportunities for parents within our school.  These include the School Site Council (SSC), the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). Parents have found participation in these activities to be informative and interesting, and we encourage your involvement in these important programs.

Daily attendance is crucial to each student’s academic growth and achievement.  Because we value student attendance, we have various incentive programs to encourage daily engagement.  We recognize classrooms with the highest percentage of students in attendance each month and individually recognize students with perfect attendance each trimester! Fremont teachers plan extensively to prepare lessons that will support students in learning the skills necessary to master the rigorous content standards at each grade level.  In order for students to benefit from their teachers’ expertise and receive the quality education that they deserve, they must be at school on time, attend every day, and stay in school all day.

Measure O school improvements have been completed  on campus. This project has  provided us with beautifully renovated playgrounds, two new classroom buildings, updated office space, a plaza with seating areas, additional parking and a student pick up/drop off area directly in front of the new building.  To create a cohesive  environment, the original buildings have been painted over the summer and the  updated  appearance of Fremont Elementary has added  much excitement in the community.

We look forward to the 2023-2024 school year as we continue to implement and maintain a quality program that is focused upon state standards, promotes the academic achievement and social well-being for every student.. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or  concerns. Thank you in advance for the opportunity to learn and grow with your  child(ren). We look forward to working with you this year!

Respectfully,

Nadine Bradvica

Respetuosamente,

Nadine Bradvica
